The York Middle School Girls Ice Hockey team finished another fun season in March. The team is for any girl from grades 5th through 8th. Anyone can play even if they haven’t played ice hockey before. This year we created two teams, (York Blue and York White), because we had so many girls who want to play hockey! In past years we have only had one team and only one or two girls from other towns. This year we have seven girls sign up that are not from York. For some people, this is a chance to have fun with each other on the ice. Even if you aren’t on the same team, you will still have a chance to see them at practice! Or if the Blue team and the White team play each other. Fortunately, we have awesome coaches that put all their time into coaching us and finding a place to practice. We play a lot of our home games at the University of New England in Biddeford and most of our practices are at Jacksons Landing in Durham NH. This year, both York Middle School girls hockey teams had a successful season! The Blue team got knocked out of the playoffs in their first round playing the White team. The White team lost their second game of the playoffs to Mt Ararat. We finished our season with a team party at Maine Warrior Gym in Westbrook. Playing for the Middle School Girls Ice Hockey team is a lot of fun and I encourage you to try it! Please contact: Coach Sean Cleary - [email protected] Jillian Carr - [email protected] |
